The North Central Integrity Forum has commended the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), H.E. Sen. George Akume, for his instrumental role in averting widespread protests across Nigeria’s North Central region.
In a statement released yesterday and made available to journalists, Convener of the Forum, Mr Joseph Maiwada, emphasized the importance of Sen. Akume’s recent engagement in the North Central states including Nasarawa State.
The forum credited Akume’s call for dialogue and his assurances of government support with fostering a peaceful resolution to regional tensions, thus reinforcing unity among the North Central states.

“His assurance to us yesterday has renewed our commitment to working with the government of H.E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu towards the realization of our dream Nigeria,” said Maiwada.
The forum expressed its confidence in Sen. Akume’s leadership and praised his efforts to unify the North Central region. It also passed a vote of confidence on the SGF for how he has carried the North Central along as one big united entity.
This newfound unity, according to the forum, is essential for the region to advance its goals cohesively. The forum also called upon all stakeholders to adopt dialogue as a means to address the concerns that have surfaced in recent weeks.
