Humanitarian and public speaker, Rechael Okonkwo, popularly known as Nkoli Nwa Nsukka, is among the women expected to speak at the 2026 Global Women in Business Conference in Doha, Qatar, as organisers seek to connect Nigerian women entrepreneurs with global business opportunities.
The conference, organised by She Means Business in partnership with Flyzone Tourism, is scheduled to hold from October 13 to 18, 2026, with the theme, “Global Women in Business.”
The event is expected to bring together women entrepreneurs, business leaders and professionals from different countries for masterclasses, keynote sessions, networking and other business-focused engagements.
Speaking during a press briefing in Lagos on Friday, September 11, co-founder of She Means Business, Marycollete Kaka Kekong, said the organisation, which has over 50,000 women across more than 20 countries, was created to help women connect, expand their businesses and access opportunities beyond their immediate markets.
She said the conference was aimed at helping women move from operating within their local markets to gaining visibility and opportunities on the global stage.
“We want to see that women who have a fashion line in Nigeria have fashion lines in different countries,” she said.
Marycollete identified funding as one of the major challenges facing women in business, noting that many women also lack adequate information on how to access available funding opportunities.
According to her, the Qatar conference would provide participants with exposure, business knowledge and access to funding opportunities that could support the growth of their businesses.
“I want to see women businesses scale. I want to see women businesses going head to head with global businesses,” she said.
The conference will also provide opportunities for participants to meet investors, business leaders and potential partners from different countries.
Speaking on the partnership with Flyzone Tourism, its Principal Executive, Awomoyi Ayodeji, said the company would handle the travel and logistics needs of delegates attending the conference, including flights, accommodation, visa arrangements and other travel support.
He said the arrangement would allow participants to focus on the business opportunities at the conference while Flyzone handles their travel logistics.
Awomoyi said the international exposure would be particularly useful to women in tourism, who would have opportunities to meet counterparts and potential partners from other countries.
“They’re going to be meeting international partners, those in finance and those in business. They’re going to be meeting their counterparts in other countries, and they can all come together and build stronger ties,” he said.
He added that while Flyzone had provided travel services to corporate organisations, government bodies, manufacturing companies and the oil and gas sector, its partnership with She Means Business was its first with the women-focused business community.
The partnership, he said, would continue beyond the October conference, with Flyzone expected to support future gatherings involving women in sectors including finance, banking, manufacturing and tourism.
The Global Women in Business Conference follows the recent African Women in Business Expo organised by She Means Business in Calabar, where more than 300 women entrepreneurs applied for grants and other business support opportunities. One of the opportunities from the programme was an all-expenses-paid trip to the Doha conference.
With speakers and participants drawn from different fields, the organisers said the broader goal of the conference is to help women build businesses that can reach international markets while gaining access to global networks, knowledge and partnerships.
