A nollywood film, which addresses sexual violence against young girls is set to premiere on April 10, 2025, at the Pefti Film Institute in Lagos.

The film, produced by child rights advocate, Wilson Ukhurebor, tackles the issue of sexual violence against children, particularly young girls and aims to drive awareness and spark conversations that would  bring an end to it.

During the private media screening which took place in Lagos at the weekend, Ukhurebor, who is also the President of the International Child Safety Report Initiative (ICSR), described the project as a “call to action through film,” urging the government to stand as a ‘protective shield’ for vulnerable children.

“DINA is more than just a movie; it is a movement. It challenges us to take responsibility and work together to ensure the safety and rights of every child,” he said.

The premiere event on April 10 will feature a special screening for school students and key stakeholders, marking the beginning of a campaign to amplify the film’s message and afterwards, it will be screened in 10 cinemas across Lagos State.

The film, which has been endorsed by the Lagos State Ministry of Youths and Social Development, is part of a larger initiative that includes empowerment activities for young girls.
