The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the ongoing Nigerian Oil & Gas Industry Games (NOGIG) has assured the participants, contingents and athletes that comprehensive security arrangements have been put in place in collaboration with relevant security agencies to ensure controlled access and a safe environment.
The LOC also assured that the event has been professionally structured and thoroughly prepared.
Chairman of the LOC, Suleiman Suleiman who spoke during the opening ceremony at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium (Package B), Abuja on Sunday, announced that the edition brings together 15 participating companies across the oil and gas value chain, competing in 13 different sporting events over the next one week.
He said: “To all contingents, let me assure you that this event has been professionally structured and thoroughly prepared. Comprehensive security arrangements are in place in collaboration with relevant security agencies to ensure controlled access and a safe environment.”
“Robust safety protocols have been implemented across all venues, with trained coordinators assigned to each sport. Fully equipped medical teams and ambulances are on standby throughout the Games to provide immediate response where necessary.
Qualified technical officials and referees have been engaged to ensure fairness, neutrality and strict adherence to the rules,” he said.
Speaking further, Suleiman said: “We are deeply grateful to the Chief Executives and management teams of all participating organisations for prioritising staff wellness and releasing their contingents despite demanding operational commitments.”
“Your support underscores a powerful truth — that our people remain our greatest asset. I also wish to commend every LOC member and subcommittee — Technical, Security, Medical, Logistics, Accreditation, Media, Welfare and Protocol — for months of disciplined preparation. Your dedication has brought us to this moment,” he said.
