No infrastructure was developed until Tinubu came onboard – Umahi

Minister of Works off Works, Sen David Umahi has said that there was no infrastructural development in the country until President Bola Tinubu came into power.

He said the President has transformed the country within three years in office. Umahi stated this while inspecting the Ebonyi section of the Cross River–Abuja Super Highway at the weekend.

The project is one of the legacy road projects being executed by the Federal Government.

He called on the people of the country to support the President re-election in 2027.

Umahi, a former governor of Ebonyi State urged the people of South East to be wise and strategic in next year’s general election and vote for President Tinubu.

He maintained that Tinubu’s administration had demonstrated fairness to the zone through strategic investments in road infrastructure, insisting that no previous administration had matched the level of development currently taking place in the region.

“When people are saying oh, we are borrowing! The President is not borrowing to buy vehicles, no, he is not borrowing to pay salaries, no! He is borrowing for infrastructure and every nation is borrowing for infrastructure

“No infrastructure was developed in this country until President Tinubu came on board. And so, the South East must wake up. If you are in the South East and insulting people whose opinions differ from yours, then you are endangering the fortunes of the South East because our time will come.

“This is the time of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. You can insult me, I enjoy the insults and it means I am very important. My mouth is open to tell Nigerians the great and beautiful works the President is doing.

“I am interested that the South East must not go the way they went before. They must be wise and strategic because we are getting what we never got before. If you are in Ebonyi State, you can take a maximum of three hours to get to Abuja. If you are in Enugu State, it will take hours to be in Abuja. What else are we looking for? We are looking for development, we are looking for inclusiveness,” he said.
