‘NNPCL’s boss Kyari doing well’

From Okwe Obi, Abuja

The Niger Delta Amalgamated Supreme Concourse and All Nigeria Ethnic Nationalities Grand Assembly have passed a vote of confidence in the Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari.

Recall that the Youth Nationalities’ Formation, had called on President Bola Tinubu, to sack Kyari, for allegedly “undermining the efforts for the repairs of indigenous refineries.”

But Chairman, Niger Delta Amalgamated Supreme Concourse, Friday Maduka and General Secretary, All Nigeria Ethnic Nationalities Grand Assembly, Akbar Abubakar, at a press briefing yesterday in Abuja, faulted the claim and added that the agitators lacked the scientific know-how on how the oil and gas sector work.

According to Maduka, the claim against Kyari working against the takeoff of the Dangote refinery and repairs of indigenous refineries was the height of ignorance.

“The ill-informed case of sabotage against the take-off of government-owned refinery and that of the Dangote Group refinery is tantamount to an Alice in the Wonderland fairy Tale, given that Mele Kyari has sufficed by word and deed as the greatest bastion of support for the resumption of Petroleum Production in the nation,” he said.

Maduka added: “For the record, Mele Kyari is fully in tandem with his mandate and is meticulously and assiduously coordinating his act in tandem with the policies and targets devised by the federal government.

“Also, he is working in tandem with the policy direction of the existing progressive renewed hope administration and all the Geo- consequential and relevant extant laws which govern oil industry operations.

“In his well-publicized apologia in March 2024 with respect to the resumption of petroleum production, Mele Kyari fired the imagination of all Nigerians to the possibility of full petroleum production after the turn around maintenance processes, mechanical completion of the refinery, test run, regulatory compliance processes in consonance with the intellectual, technical and philosophical principles which undergird production which effectuates into affordable petrol to the Nigeria People,” he said.
