A Catholic priest of Nnewi diocese, Rev Fr Stanislaus Mbamara has been kidnapped.
In a release signed by the Chancellor of the Nnewi diocese, Rev Fr Raphael Ezeogu, the priest who is also a student of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka was said to have been kidnapped, Saturday evening on his way from Awka to Nnewi.
“Let’s storm heaven with humble and insistent prayers for his quick release in sound health of mind and body.
“May the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Help of Christians, pray with and for us, ” the release read.
When contacted, the Abambra State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga (DSP) said his office was not informed of the incident as at the time of filing this report.
