Graduating with a degree in Microbiology in 2017, Chimezie initially appeared destined for a career in the biological sciences. To strengthen his technical foundation, Chimezie pursued a Master of Science in Data Science, completing the program in 2022. Through his studies, he developed skills in machine learning, statistical analysis, artificial intelligence, and data modelling. More importantly, the experience showed him how data could be used to solve practical problems and support better decision-making.
“I was fascinated by how data could reveal patterns and insights that weren’t immediately obvious,” he said. “The more I learned, the more I saw its potential to improve outcomes in areas like healthcare.”
His transition into technology coincided with one of the most challenging periods in recent history. As the COVID-19 pandemic placed enormous strain on healthcare systems worldwide, digital solutions became increasingly important in helping providers deliver care efficiently.
During this time, Chimezie contributed to the development and deployment of healthcare technology solutions aimed at improving patient care and expanding access to medical services. Working alongside clinicians, engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders, he helped support the delivery of a healthcare platform that enabled medical professionals to access information more quickly and make better-informed decisions.
