Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has spoken out after her much-anticipated celebrity boxing showdown with reality star Phyna ended in a fourth-round knockout defeat in Lagos.
Phyna defeated the actress by knockout in the fourth round of the bout organised by Balmoral Group, which marked the organiser’s first female celebrity boxing contest.
Reacting to the outcome in an Instagram post on Friday, October 2, Nkechi described herself as a champion despite the loss, suggesting that viewers who watched the fight would understand her position.
“Even the blind knows who the winner is,” she wrote.
The actress also disclosed that she had only two days to prepare for the contest and expressed appreciation to her coach for the support during her training.

Despite the defeat, Nkechi indicated that she would return to her acting career, making it clear that boxing was not her profession.
“I no be boxer,” she said.
Phyna’s victory came after four rounds of the contest, securing her a knockout win over the actress in the celebrity showdown.
The bout attracted attention because it brought together two popular entertainment personalities in a boxing contest, with Phyna emerging victorious.
