Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has launched a nationwide call for participation in the Inaugural Lecture of Prof. Emmanuel Dandaura, Professor of Strategic and Development Communication, Vice President and Vice Chairman of Council, set for April 15 at Nasarawa State University, Keffi.

In a stirring message to distinguished elders, council members, fellows, and professional colleagues, NIPR Registrar and Chairman of the Presidential National Planning Committee, Uzoma Onyegbadue, hailed the event as a pinnacle of thought leadership. “This platform mobilises participation and support for an intellectual engagement central to our profession and national development,” Onyegbadue stated.

The lecture, titled “When Applause Lies: Communication, Power, and the War Between Reputation and Perception in Nigeria,” probes how deceptive praise shapes public narratives amid power struggles.

The programme will kick off at 12:00 noon with a Command Performance at the Theatre Arts Auditorium, featuring creative showcases at the nexus of communication, culture, and society, alongside goodwill messages from guests.

It will then continue at 2:00 p.m. in the Assembly Hall for the main lecture delivery.

NIPR President and Chairman of Council, Ike Neliaku, has constituted a Presidential National Planning Committee and urged all practitioners to contribute ideas and support. “This milestone advances scholarship and nation-building,” Onyegbadue emphasised, inviting active engagement to uphold the institute’s traditions of excellence.
