The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has introduced a Pre-Enrolment Portal aimed at enhancing efficiency and improving user experience in the National Identification Number (NIN) registration process.

According to the Commission, the newly launched digital platform allows prospective applicants, both within Nigeria and in the diaspora, to capture and submit their biodata online prior to visiting enrolment centres for biometric capture.

A statement issued by NIMC Spokesperson Kayode Adegoke on Friday, said that the initiative is designed to reduce congestion and long waiting times at enrolment centres nationwide.

The Commission explained that the portal forms part of its broader strategy to deploy technology-driven solutions that streamline public service delivery.

Key features of the portal include online capture and management of applicants’ biodata ahead of biometric enrolment, appointment scheduling to reduce overcrowding at centres, and improved data accuracy since applicants directly input their information.

The platform also offers secure handling of personal data, seamless upload of required supporting documents, and an overall improvement in enrolment accuracy and operational efficiency.

NIMC encouraged all prospective NIN applicants to take advantage of the Pre-Enrolment Portal for a faster and more convenient registration experience, reiterating its commitment to building a reliable and sustainable digital identity ecosystem to support national development.

“The introduction of the portal reflects the unwavering commitment of the DG/CEOEngr. (Dr). Abisoye Coker-Odusote, to strengthen institutional performance through technology-driven solutions, in alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, which prioritizes efficient public service delivery, digital transformation, and inclusive national development,” the statement noted.
