Founder of the One Love Family and spiritual leader, Satguru Maharaj Ji, has urged former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to stay out of the 2027 presidential race, insisting that the South should be allowed to complete an eight-year tenure in office.

Maharaj Ji, in a statement, said any attempt by Atiku or other northern politicians to contest the presidency in 2027 would undermine the existing North-South political understanding in the country.

According to him, the same patience and support enjoyed by the North during the eight-year administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari should be extended to the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

“The South must be allowed to complete its eight-year duration in Aso Rock like the North did in respect of the immediate past Buhari administration,” he stated.

Maharaj Ji argued that northern political leaders should respect the rotational arrangement that has shaped Nigeria’s recent political structure, saying adherence to such understanding would strengthen national unity and political stability.

He also called on the Northern Elders Forum and other influential northern stakeholders to prevail on Atiku and other northern aspirants to withdraw from the 2027 presidential contest. The spiritual leader warned that the silence of northern political elites over Atiku’s alleged ambition could heighten political tension ahead of the general elections.

He further accused some northern elite of contributing to Nigeria’s prolonged political and economic challenges, while urging Nigerians with progressive ideas to unite for national renewal.
