Nigeria’s boys have advanced to the final of the 2026 CAVB U18 African Nations Volleyball Championship in Alexandria, Egypt, following a straight-sets semi-final win over Cameroon.
The Nigerian side dominated the contest, taking it 25-16, 25-20, 25-19 to preserve their unbeaten record heading into the title match.
The result extended a near-flawless run through the tournament, with Nigeria dropping only a single set across the entire competition so far.
Nigeria topped Group A after three straight wins, opening with a 3-0 defeat of Morocco, then edging hosts Egypt 3-1 in a tightly contested match, before closing out the group with a 3-0 win over Burundi.
That form carried into the knockout stage, where Nigeria eased past Libya 3-0 in the quarter-finals ahead of Tuesday’s semi-final win.
Against Cameroon, the team’s attacking power, tight defense, and steady serving proved too much for their opponents, sealing another straight-sets result.
Nigeria have now won five matches in a row, four of them without dropping a single set, leaving them one win away from the continental U18 title.
The run reflects the strength of Nigeria’s youth volleyball setup and points to a strong pipeline of talent coming through the national development system.
Attention now shifts to the final, where Nigeria will look to cap an unbeaten campaign with the continental crown.
