Super Falcons arrive in Abuja with WAFCON trophy

The Super Falcons arrived in Abuja on Monday after clinching a historic 10th  Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title.

Per online reports, the Nigerian team landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja aboard a chartered flight at about 2:26 p.m.

Fans and government officials were present to give the Super Falcons a rousing welcome after waiting for hours at the airport.

Among those present were the Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Hanatu Musawa, and the Minister for Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim.

The WAFCON trophy will be on parade in an open bus across the streets of Abuja en route to the Presidential Villa, where the team will be hosted by President Bola Tinubu.
