The Super Eagles are set to play two more matches in the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, followed by a final opportunity to secure their spot in the Intercontinental playoff.
Four teams from Africa—Gabon, Cameroon, Nigeria, and potentially DR Congo (who learned their fate on Tuesday night regarding whether they can displace Burkina Faso)—will compete in a semifinal and final to determine the sole African representative for the Intercontinental playoff.
This playoff will decide which team joins those already qualified for the Mundial.
Currently, Nigeria finished the group with a total of 17 points but sits in second place on the rankings.
Nigeria who earned 2 points from their matches against Zimbabwe, this will adjust their total to 15 points.
