Numerous football followers have started sending congratulatory messages the boss of FC One Rocket, Hon. NSE Essien ahead of today’s inauguration of the Nigerian Football Federation, (NFF) sub-committee on Futsal and Beach soccer by NFF President, Ibrahim Gusau.
However, a legendary CAF and FIFA administrator, Elder Paul Bassey has expressed optimism that the NFF board member, Obong Nse Essien will perform well in his new capacity as the sub-committee chairman of Nigeria’s Futsal and Beach soccer from his wealth of football development experience.
“I congratulate, Obong Nse Essien, I wish him well in his new capacity. I can assure you that he is a round peg in a round hole.” Futsal and Beach soccer in Nigeria will do better with his experience and drive for football development in the country. “
Nigerians will expect the Nigerian Supersand Eagles to reenact the 2007 and 2009 feat under Nse Essien’s leadership.
According to CAF draws for this year’s Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series, the Supersand Eagles are drawn to play Mauritania home and away next month. A total of 14 countries will be involved in the qualifiers, with the seven winners to join hosts Egypt at the finals.
Mauritania will host the Supersand Eagles on a day between July 19 to 21, with Nigeria hosting the return leg a week later.
For the first time ever, the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup will take place on African soil, when Seychelles stages the tournament next year.
