Anglican Bishop of Afikpo Diocese, Ebonyi State, Rev. Paul Udogu, has identified corruption, occultism and idolatry as the major problems the nation was having and urged the people to run away from them for the country to move forward.
In his new year message, Udogu lamented that things were getting harder in the country and alleged that leaders were confused on what to do to salvage the country.
He expressed the hope that the year will be better if the people are focused and determined.
“I just want to tell Nigerians to have hope and hope in God. Things are hard, people are hungry, our economy is going down, insecurity everywhere, lots of challenges.

“But I want Ebonyi people and Nigerians to be focused this new year, looking unto God. God will be able to grant a way out of the mess in which we are.
“The way it is now, our naira is losing value, it seems as if some of our leaders are confused, it seems as if they don’t know what to do but with God, all things are possible.
“Nigeria is our country, we must love this country, we must believe in this country and we must work hard for this country to work out. And I think it is possible if every dick and harry will be determined and focused to make Nigeria what God wants it to be.
“We must run away from idolatry, we must run away from occultism, we must run away from corruption. God will help us,” he stated.
