Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command have received praise from Nigerians for assisting a lady whose car ran out of fuel early Monday morning.
In a post on Facebook, the RRS said its patrol team encountered the unnamed lady at Cement Bus Stop on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway around 4:00pm.
The lady was stranded as her car had run out of fuel, the RRS said.
Instead of abandoning the lady to her fate, the team gave her five litres of fuel to enable her to drive her vehicle to the nearest petrol station.
“Around 4:00 a.m. today, our team met a lady whose vehicle ran out of fuel at Cement Bus stop, Lagos -Abeokuta Expressway.
“The team assisted her with 5 litres of fuel to get her to the nearest filling station.
“The team wished her a lovely day and a blessed week before continuing its patrol,” the post reads.
Taking to the comment section of the post, many Nigerians commended the team for helping the lady out, noting that such kind gestures would help endear the citizenry to the police.
Tunde Alabi said, “This is one of the things that can make people like the police.”
Rasheed Anbali said, “Thank you for this great job.”
Emmanuel A. Ajibulu said, “This is remarkably great. Kudos to our men in uniform.”
Ibrahim Ibitoye said, “You are doing great. May the Lord continue to guide and guard the NPF and the Rapid Response.”
