As more Nigerians embrace seamless digital banking amid rising fears of fraud and identity theft, popular influencer and PR executive, Dami Adenuga, has called on the public to prioritise security measures after narrowly escaping the loss of his life savings, an incident he said was prevented by Moremonee’s Trusted Partner feature.

Adenuga disclosed that the close call followed the disappearance of his phone at a public event in Lagos, noting that the situation could have resulted in a significant financial loss if not for the account protection tools built into the Moremonee platform.

In a post shared via his verified X handle, the communications expert warned Nigerians to be vigilant with their mobile devices at crowded events, stressing that digital convenience must be matched with proactive security planning.

He explained that the incident occurred after he attended a conference in Ikeja, Lagos, where he was invited as a speaker, adding that the event ended late and was marked by intense human traffic and media activity.

According to Adenuga, it was during the post-event rush, involving press engagements and interactions with attendees, that he later discovered his second phone—which contained access to his primary savings account—was missing.

Following Adenuga’s disclosure, several Nigerians on X commended Moremonee for what they described as a proactive and user-focused security feature, noting that the Trusted Partner option addressed a common vulnerability faced by digital banking users in cases of phone loss or theft.

Some users shared personal experiences of failed or delayed account recovery with other platforms, while others praised Moremonee for enabling swift third-party intervention, arguing that such safeguards could significantly reduce the financial impact of fraud if more Nigerians adopted them.
