A Nigerian identified as Babylon was on Wednesday shot dead at a birthday party in Laguna, Philippines, in a suspected cult-related incident.
It was learnt that the incident occurred at the private residence of the celebrant identified as Obinna.
Babylon, a resident of Manila, reportedly travelled to Laguna for the party.
A violent fight was said to have broken out between two rival groups present at the celebration, resulting in the shooting.
The rival group had gathered upstairs while Babylon and his faction were downstairs during the party.

Both groups, however, clashed when Babylon’s group went upstairs to notify the host that they were leaving.
The rival group reportedly blocked Babylon’s faction’s path, which resulted in a verbal altercation that quickly degenerated into an exchange of gunfire.
It was gathered that Babylon was shot in the process as others scampered for safety while the shooter fled.
A source said no one has claimed the corpse of Babylon, who had a wife and a kid in Nigeria.
No arrest has been made in relation to the incident.
