Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro has denied allegations that Nigerian senators are involved in sponsoring banditry in Nigeria.

Moro, speaking in an interview with journalists in Jos shortly after he chaired a public hearing on the national security summit for the North-Central geopolitical zone held in Jos, the Plateau State capital, on Thursday, was responding to allegations by one of the presenters who had claimed some senators are complicit in the spate of banditry and aiding insecurity in the country.

The lawmaker, while exonerating his colleagues, vehemently denied the allegations, explaining that Nigerian senators are responsible citizens with integrity and would not indulge in such evil acts.

He challenged the accuser to name the said senator or senators.

He expressed optimism that the outcome of the summit would be positive and called for sincerity among all traditional rulers, community leaders, and groups in putting forward their recommendations on ending the security challenge in Nigeria.
