Nigerian player arrested in India for forgery

A popular Nigerian footballer based in India has been arrested for allegedly forging his travelling documents sometime in June 2015.

The 31-year-old footballer, Daniel Bidemiayen, also known as Daniel Bidemi, was arrested by Security Control Organisation (SCO) officers that raided his Madurdaha apartment.

According to reports, Bidemi had forged the passport and visa which led to his arrest by the SCO officers.

Bidemi is a well-known Nigerian footballer in the Kolkata football circle. He is a versatile footballer who plays in different positions.

He played for Mohun Bagan in 2016.

He has also played in many Calcutta Football League clubs including Chirag United SC, Mohammedan Sporting, Calcutta Port Trust, Bhowanipore FC, Tollygunge Agragami and Police AC since he arrived India in 2008.

Bidemi has played in the I-League for Shillong Lajong Football Club and Sporting Clube de.
