Nigerian entrepreneur bags award, signs biz partnership with Chinese firm

The ceremony was graced by the Consulate General of Nigeria to Guangzhou, China, Ambassador George Collins, who delivered an inspiring speech commending the fruitful partnership between Absen and XL Magnis Ltd.

Ambassador Collins encouraged other global manufacturers to follow Absen’s example by partnering with Nigerian firms to support the industrialization of Africa’s largest economy. “Nigeria, as the giant of Africa, is open for impactful collaboration. Partnerships like this prove that Nigerian enterprises can lead global innovation while unlocking economic prosperity across the continent,” the Ambassador declared.

In addition to the trophy presentation, XL Magnis Ltd was officially issued a Certificate of Partnership, certifying it as an official global partner of Absen. The certificate cited XL Magnis’ outstanding capabilities in Nigeria and profound collaboration, which significantly contributed to Absen surpassing the $1 billion revenue mark on the China/Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2025.

Speaking while presenting the official award letter,  Absen’s Africa Market Director, Claire Liu said: “Dr. Abraham Great has emerged not only as a facilitator but as a trusted global partner. His leadership, business acumen, and deep commitment to long-term value creation are exceptional.”

Despite the celebratory tone, Dr. Great returned from China to mourn the sudden passing of his long-time friend and business partner, Chief Tunde Oladugbagbe, a Nigerian-American entrepreneur. Chief Tunde, a strategic ally for over 27 years, died in a small Chinese town on Tuesday, August 12th.

“This was a shared vision. I receive this honour with a heavy heart but also deep gratitude. Chief Tunde believed in the future we were building,” Dr. Great shared.

Among Dr. Great’s leading projects is the ARK Project, a stadium-sized LED infrastructure build out in Nigeria that merges worship, education, and immersive digital experiences. Under his leadership, Great Dynasty Group Global has expanded across Nigeria, the UK, Canada, Ghana, and China, with subsidiaries like XL Magnis at the forefront of Africa’s digital transformation.
