Nigerian diaspora groups celebrate new lawyers, honour academic excellence

The Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation Americas (NIDOA) and the Nigerian American Public Affairs Committee (NAPAC) have jointly congratulated the 2025 Call to Bar class of the Nigerian Law School, with special recognition for Munachisom Ochiabutor, the best graduating student at the Kano Campus and the 13th overall among over 7,000 graduates nationwide.

Ochiabutor’s outstanding achievement, securing First Class Honours and the prestigious Director General’s Prize for First Class Students, has been hailed as a shining example of discipline, dedication and academic excellence.

In a joint statement, NIDOA and NAPAC, praised the new barristers for their resilience and commitment to justice amid global challenges.

“Munachisom Ochiabutor is a beacon of the promise Nigeria holds. His success is a victory for every young Nigerian, who dares to dream, work hard and rise with integrity,” the statement read.

The organisations emphasised that Nigeria’s youth are its greatest asset, urging them to remain focused and embrace their potential to drive meaningful change.

The coalition reaffirmed its commitment to fostering Nigerian excellence globally through mentorship,…education, policy advocacy and investments, strengthening ties between the diaspora and the homeland. “As Ochiabutor’s story proves, excellence is possible and the world is watching,” the statement concluded.
