The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Lagos State Chapter, has expressed optimism that Nigeria will overcome its security and economic challenges.
The state chairman of CAN, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, gave the assurance while informing the public about the forthcoming 2026 Inter-Denominational Divine Service (IDDS), scheduled for Saturday, February 21, at the The Apostolic Church Nigeria, LAWNA Territorial Headquarters in Ketu with the theme “Immanuel: God With Us.”
Speaking on the state of the nation, Adegbite acknowledged that Nigeria continues to face significant challenges, including economic pressures, rising inflation, and structural adjustments affecting many citizens.

However, he noted that the issues are being deliberately addressed by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu through various economic policies and interventions aimed at stabilising the economy, strengthening institutions, and positioning the country for long-term growth.
He added that there are emerging indicators suggesting that some of the measures are already yielding positive results.
“As a Christian body, we encourage patience, constructive engagement, and continued prayers for the President and all those entrusted with leadership at the federal level,” he said.
Adegbite explained that the 2026 Inter-Denominational Divine Service would serve as a moment of intercession, thanksgiving, and renewed commitment.
