Nigeria’s Super Falcons will face South Africa’s Banyana Banyana on Thursday in a crucial 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup play-off in Casablanca, Morocco.

The encounter comes after both teams suffered defeats in the quarter-finals of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

South Africa were beaten 2-1 by hosts Morocco, while Nigeria lost 1-0 to Cameroon, ending their hopes of securing automatic qualification for the World Cup.

The two African giants must now battle for another route to the global tournament, with the winner keeping their qualification hopes alive.

The victorious team will advance to the six-team preliminary round of the inter-confederation play-offs.

From there, successful teams will progress to a final play-off stage, where three nations will eventually secure places at the 2027 World Cup in Brazil.

The match is scheduled for 9pm Nigerian time at Stade Moulay Rachid in Casablanca.

In Nigeria, the game will be broadcast live on AfroSport, while viewers in South Africa can watch it on SABC.

SuperSport will also provide coverage across the region.
