About 20 Asian investors from different sectors are expected to have a cross- pollination of ideas with critical stakeholders of the Nigerian economy in Lagos for national development.

Powered by the World International Economic Group (WIEG), the international investment summit promises to pay special attention to the creative industry, energy, agriculture, finance, aviation, infrastructure/construction sectors and the Micro, small and medium businesses (MSMEs).

At a pre-summit press brief in Lagos, the Lead WIEG Representative Mr. Bassey Essien, told newsmen that the consent of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Nigerian Investments Promotion Commission, the Lagos State Government and others were secured as partners in the coming discourse.

The event is slated for February 25 and 26 at Four Point by Sheraton, with the theme: “Nigeria Next Frontier: Unlocking Sustainable Investments for Economic Transformation.”

Essien highlighted the need for young talents in Nigeria to package their brainchild excellently for investors’ appeal and ultimate bankroll.

He explained that breakout sessions would look into policy inconsistency and summersault, weak performance management mechanism, impediments to access loans among other challenges which budding entrepreneurs face.

The Lead Representative added that the summit was a curetted, private sector-led event, designed to deliver practical results. Participants, he explained, included pre-screened MSMEs, cooperatives, investors, DFIs, and development partners, while structured engagement includes investment readiness sessions, policy-to-market dialogue, and matchmaking.

The summit would not be exhausted without “tracking, reporting, and follow-up” to ensure measurable outcomes. But most importantly, the session is non-partisan with no financial burden on government partners, while still aligning with public policy objectives.
