Nigeria in Group B of U-19 Women’s Cricket World Cup qualifiers
Nigeria has been drawn in group B of the U-19 Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifiers holding in Kigali, Rwanda later this month.
The draw conducted on Sunday pitch Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Tanzania and Malawi in Group B.
Nigeria will take on Tanzania on September 22 at the Integrated Polytechnic Regional College Ground, Kigali before meeting Zimbabwe the next day at Gahanga B Ground, Kigali.
The team will observe a day rest on the 24th before stepping out against
Malawi at the Gahanga B Ground.
Meanwhile, host nation Rwanda has been handed a tough draw in the qualifiers which gets underway in Kigali from September 22-29.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) pitted Rwanda against neighbors Uganda, as well as giants Kenya and Namibia in Group A of the draw that took place on Sunday, September 10.
Rwanda qualified for the U19 Cricket World Cup in South Africa in 2023 where they reached the Super Six. They will be aiming to qualify for the competition again and go a step further.
Mahatlane Lawrence’s side will begin their campaign on Sunday, September 22, against Kenya before taking on Namibia the following day. They will round up against rivals Uganda on September 25. All fixtures will take place at Gahanga Cricket Stadium.
Two top teams in each group will advance to the semifinals.
which will take place on September 28. The final will take place on September 29.
