The National Orientation Agency ( NOA) Kebbi State Directory, have commended Nigerians resilience over the past 66 years independence of the country and appreciated Governor Nasir Idris initiative on subsidy for transportation in the state.
State Director of the agency in the state,Mr Muhammad. Nasir Karofi stated this in a statement made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi and signed by Mrs Larai Saminu Nazo, the Assistant Director Media and Communication of the agency.
According to him, “on the auspicious occasion of Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary, the National Orientation Agency (NOA) extends its heartfelt congratulations and warm felicitations to the government and good people of Nigeria, with special commendation for the unwavering resilience demonstrated by the citizens of Kebbi State.
“Reflecting on the nation’s journey, the Director acknowledged the economic challenges currently facing the country.
“He noted that while socio-economic pressures have been exacerbated by recent hikes in transportation costs as a result if subsidy removal, the ongoing reform efforts and strategic interventions by both the Federal and Kebbi State governments demonstrate a clear commitment to sustainable national recovery and citizen welfare.
”The NOA particularly commended the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, His Excellency Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, for his proactive leadership and empathy toward the people. The recent introduction of the Kebbi State mass transit system has significantly cushioned the burden of daily commuting for residents across the state”
Karofi, according to the statement, noted that,to build on this successful initiative, he called on the Kebbi State Government to expand the transit scheme by incorporating a dedicated cargo transport component.
“Adding cargo capacity would enable local traders and businessmen to transport goods at subsidized rates along key commercial routes connecting strategic hubs such as Sokoto, Kano, and Lagos.
“Lowering freight logistics costs will directly translate into reduced prices for food and essential commodities in local markets, providing broader relief to households.
“Furthermore, the Director lauded Governor Nasir Idris for his generous agricultural intervention programmes, specifically the large-scale distribution of free fertilizers and modern farm implements to farmers across Kebbi State.
” Recognizing the potential of these interventions to boost food security, the NOA urged the state government to establish strict monitoring mechanisms to ensure these critical agricultural inputs are fully utilized within Kebbi State to maximize crop yield and drive down food prices”.
Karofi added that, as Nigeria marks 66 years of nationhood, the NOA calls on all Kebbi residents and Nigerians nationwide to remain steadfast, support government developmental initiatives, and continue working collectively toward a prosperous and self-reliant nation.
