Niger Tornadoes Football Club of Minna has lost one of its longest serving staff, the club curator, Abdullahi Jibrin. The late curator who died in Minna on Thursday was popularly refered to by management, players and supporters of the club as Sara.
The club said in a statement in Minna Thursday, said that it is saddened by the sudden death of the deceased who participated in the team’s morning training program few hours before his demise. The deceased has served in his position for over 30 years with dedication and humility and has traveled across the 36 states of the country with the club.
In a message of condolence to the family and relatives of the deceased by the club media officer, Mallam Usman Garba Kuta, quoted the Chairman of the club, Ibrahim Dada as saying that the club is devastated by the death of the club curator.
While describing the sudden death of late Jibrin as shocking, he however admitted that his death was an act of God.
He said, late Abdullahi Jibril’s commitment, dedication and tremendous contribution and service to the state darling team can only be emulated and will surely be missed by the entire Niger Tornadoes family and supporters.
The chairman prayed Allah (SWT) to bless the deceased with Aljannah Firdaus and grant the family with the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. The deceased who died at the age of 48 left behind his mother, brothers and sisters.
According to the family sources, the funeral prayer of the deceased was observed Thursday at the Minna Central Mosque.
