Niger Speaker, Sarkindaji, gifts scholarship to 250 students, free JAMB registration to 300 candidates in Niger

The Speaker, Niger state house of assembly, Rt Hon Abdulmalik Sarkindaji has given scholarships to no fewer than 250 indigents of his Constituency, Mariga local government area of state, with the resolve to focus on education as his major priority.

The scholarship programme is under his education foundation, Malikiyya Education Foundation with the sole aim of advancing the educational development of the people of his Constituency.

In addition to the scholarship, the Malikkya Education Foundation has offered free JAMB registration to 300 students from Mariga Local Government.

The registration of these 300 candidates will commence on Saturday, 14th February 2026, at the Sani Bello Foundation, Kontagora, one of the Computer Based Test (CBT) centers in the state.

Speaking on Friday when he visited the state owned Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU), Lapai, Niger state to offset the school fees of some benefiting students, the Chairman of foundation, Alhaji Salisu Tukur (Alkali Bobi) said the 250 students are drawn from across all the tertiary instructions in the country.

He said all indegents students of Mariga local government studying in higher institution of learning anywhere in the country will benefit from the gesture by the Speaker.

He disclosed that he was in IBBU Lapai in continuation of the nationwide tour of institutions where Mariga indigenes are studying with a view to offset their school fees.

According to him, the Malikiyya Education Foundation remains resolute in its mission to empower the youth of Mariga through education and equal opportunity.

He disclosed further that while other areas are receiving adequate attention due to the Speaker’s Intervention, education “he has picked education as his priority, hence the need to established the Malikkya Education Foundation to catered for the less privileged ones.”
