The Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abdulmalik Mohammad Sarkin-Daji, has felicitated with the State Governor, Umaru Mohammed Bago, on the occasion of his 51st birthday, describing him as a visionary and a pragmatic leader whose vision for a New Niger has given the people a new lease of life.
A statement by the Acting Head of Department, Media and Public Relations Directorates of the House, Mairo Adamu Mani, quoted the speaker as saying that the Governor had demonstrated leadership in the last two years with massive infrastructural transformation across the state.
“Your approach to governance leaves no one doubt that Niger State is on the march to greatness. Leadership is about vision, dedication, transparency, equity and justice, and this is what you have demonstrated in the last two years in office,” he said.
The Speaker specifically commended the Governor for his roust relationship with the 10th assembly, saying his respect for separation of power had distinguished him as a man of immense quality and character, and therefore assured him of full cooperation to enable the administration realize its developmental agenda for the state.
“We believed that there cannot be any meaningful development if there is no smooth and harmonious relationship between the Executive and the Legislative arm, and that is why we commended you for faith with your constitutional responsibility to the 10th Assembly.
“It is on this note that I on behalf of the leadership and members of the 10th Assembly join other well-meaning Nigerlites and other Nigerians to extend our heartfelt felicitations on the occasion of your 51st birthday celebration”, he added.
The Speaker also prayed and wished the governor a long life, good health, and divine guidance in piloting the affairs of the state to a greater height.
