•300 candidates get free JAMB registration

The Speaker, Niger State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Abdulmalik Sarkindaji has given scholarships to no fewer than 250 indigenes in his constituency, Mariga Local Government area of the state, with the resolve to focus on education as his major priority.
The scholarship programme is under his education foundation, Malikiyya Education Foundation.
In addition to the scholarship, the Malikkya Education Foundation has offered free registration to 300 students from Mariga Local Government to enable them participate in this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The registration of these 300 candidates, it was gathered, commenced on Saturday.

Speaking on Friday when he visited the state owned Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU), Lapai, Niger State to offset the school fees of some benefiting students, the chairman of the foundation, Alhaji Salisu Tukur (Alkali Bobi) said the 250 students were drawn from across all the tertiary institutions in the country.
He said indigenes of Mariga Local Government studying in higher institution of learning anywhere in the country would benefit from the gesture by the Speaker.
He disclosed that he was in IBBU Lapai in continuation of the nationwide tour of institutions where Mariga indigenes are studying with a view to offset their school fees.
According to him, the Malikiyya Education Foundation remains resolute in its mission to empower the youth of Mariga through education and equal opportunity.
