Stakeholders in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger South have unanimously endorsed Mathias Baba Tsado Gusadi as its candidate for the Bida, Gbako and Katcha Federal Constituency of Niger State.
In a spirit of unity and party progress, Nma Alfa Badeggi of Katcha Local Government Area voluntarily stepped down for Gusadi.
Badeggi said politics is not a do-or-die affair and pledged his full support for the success of the PDP in the constituency and beyond.
The party commended Badeggi’s maturity and commitment, describing his decision as a significant sacrifice for the greater interest of the party.
Party leaders present at the meeting also lauded both aspirants for their exemplary conduct and reaffirmed their commitment to work together to deliver victory for the PDP.

Reacting to the consensus arrangement, Gusadi expressed gratitude to Badeggi, Joseph Alasan (The Big Joe) and the party executives for their support.
He assured the people of Bida/Gbako/Katcha Federal Constituency of quality, people-centred representation that would address the various developmental challenges facing the area.
“I accept this responsibility with a deep sense of duty and I promise to work tirelessly to provide effective and impactful representation,” he stated.
Tsado has since been cleared by the PDP screening committee to contest the general election.
The party urged all members to remain united and focused on the task ahead.
