The Niger State Governor, Rt. Hon. Umaru Mohammed Bago has set N120bilion target for Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) in the state with a marching order to all the revenue-generating Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to redouble their efforts.
The Governor stated this on Wednesday when he presided over an enlarged inaugural State Executive Council (SEC) meeting held at the council chamber, government house, Minna.
He then urged all the revenue-generating MDAs to redouble their efforts to ensure that the monthly revenue target of N10billion is achieved.
The expanded SEC meeting which includes Commissioners, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and other political appointees was to allow all the stakeholders to key into the vision and mission of the present administration.
The Governor reassured the commitment of the present administration to deliver dividends of democracy to the citizens, saying that things must be done differently and rightly in other achieve the desire results.
To this end, the Governor disclosed that no file will last more than 24 hours on his table and therefore called on key government officials to do same.
He pointed out that all the new ministries were created to fit into the vision and mission of his administration and directed them to come up with supplementary budgets for their MDAs as his administration will work strictly within budget.
The Governor explained that his administration will embark on some deliberate policies towards realizing his administration set agenda, adding that the administration will invests in agricultural equipment in other to turn around the fortune of the state.
The Governor asked members of his cabinet to remember their oath of office, and called on them to make themselves accessible to the people and discharge their duties without overlapping.
In line with his agender on the digital economy, Governor Umaru Bago announced that the Executive Council meetings will now be done on Zoom between 8:00am and 12noon every Wednesday.
