The leadership of Niger Delta Peace and Development Advocates has commiserated with Senator Orji Uzor Kalu over the demise of his wife, Ifeoma.
A statement by the president of the body, Comrade Kelvin Ebi-Thomas said the news came to them as a rude shock, describing it as a sad reality.
According to the statement, the death of a spouse is always difficult to accept, saying she was a pillar of support to Senator Kalu.
The statement urged Senator Kalu and all those bereaved to take solace in the fact that she lived a life worthy of emulation and strive to uphold her legacies.
While noting that she died at a time when her support for her husband would be needed as he arrives to serve the people of his Senatorial District and Nigerians at large, the statement prayed God to give Senator Kalu and his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
