….Organizes Anniversary thanksgiving service

Niger State Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has commended the state governor, Rt Hon. Umar Mohammed Bago for providing a purpose leadership to the state in the last one with his infrastructure development and people oriented programmes.
The Chairman of CAN in the state, Most Rev. Bulus Dauwa Yohanna who is also the Catholic Bishop of Kontagora Diocese stated this in Minna on Sunday during a special prayer and anniversary thanksgiving service as party if the activities marking the governor’s one year in office.
The special prayer and anniversary thanksgiving service held at the St. Peter Cathedral Minna was organized by the office of Niger state Coordinator Christian Affairs in collaboration with Christian Association of Nigeria CAN, Niger State Chapter.
Most Rev. Bulus Yohanna who appreciated the developmental strides of the governor, however called for a collective responsibility in fighting social vices and teaching of moral values in our children and wards for peace and stability of the state.
While appealing for inclusion of CRK in school curriculum as well as employment of professional teachers, he assured the governor of the support and prayers of the Christian community in the state for the success of his administration and the New Niger Agenda.
in his remarks, Governor Mohammed Umar Bago who was represented by the Commissioner for Small and Medium Enterprises, Mrs Elizabeth Shaba appreciated the Christians in the state for their prayers and support for his administration in the last one year.
He urged the citizens in the state to speak up on issues bordering them, adding that solutions would be found appropriately noting that his administration operates an open door policy.
In his welcome speech, the Coordinator, Christian Affairs of Niger state, Pastor Lawrence Isa said that Niger state have never had it so good noting that governor Mohammed Umar Bago has started well and pray for him and his cabinet for continuity to ensure the best things come to the state and Nigeria.
In their separate goodwill messages, the permanent Secretary ministry of education, Mr Jonathan Wasa and Special Adviser to governor on Public Private Partnership (PPP), Mr Jonathan Tsado Vatsa urged Christians to join politics in the state and stop complaining about bad leadership.
According to Vatsa, “i challenged Christians and the church to participate in politics by coming out of their comfort zones if they most be recognized in times of decision making hence they most stop complaining and negative impressions”.
