The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has provided emergency hotline numbers for Nigerians residing in or travelling through the Middle East, as tensions in the region escalate due to the Iran-related conflict.

In a public notification posted on its official X Twitter, NiDCOM asked Nigerians in affected countries to save hotline numbers and contact the nearest Nigerian mission in case of distress or emergency.

The decision comes as anxieties grow about the broader consequences of the current turmoil in the Middle East, which has generated concerns about the safety of foreign nationals in numerous Gulf and Levant countries.

According to the statement, the commission said the lines are meant to provide urgent consular support as the security situation evolves.
