Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has condemned the tragic death of Emeka Christian, a Nigerian beaten to death in Pune, India, by two compatriots amid a romantic dispute.
The statement signed by NiDCOM’s Director of Media, Public Relations and Protocols, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, said he was allegedly killed by Chukwudi Okafor, 31 and Samuel Eze, ”in a senseless act of violence.”
The commission extended deepest condolences to Christian’s family and loved ones, stressing that “no family should endure such heartbreak.”

NiDCOM urged Indian authorities to launch a thorough, transparent investigation and ensure swift justice for the victim.
In a call to Nigerians abroad, Chairman/CEO Abike Dabiri-Erewa implored diaspora members to act as “brothers’ keepers,” resolve conflicts peacefully, and uphold unity, respect, and lawfulness as ambassadors of Nigeria.
“Violence has no place among us. Together, we can build a stronger, more positive diaspora community,” Dabiri-Erewa counselled.
