Following his decent performance at the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, the Nigeria Football Federation has decided to open discussion with Coach Jose Peseiro, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

His running contract with the Nigerian team ended on the last day of February and already the Portuguese gaffer had received several offers.

Algeria and Zamalek of Egypt are the leading contenders willing to secure his services.

Peseiro agreed to take the Super Eagles to the AFCON despite having his salary reduced from $70,000 to $50,000.

But his performance seems to have added to his values and the football body in Nigeria has commenced a contract discussion with him.

His next assignment with the Super Eagles if the deal is agreed will be the 2026 World Cup qualifier against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
