In a separate development, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Disciplinary Committee has handed down sanctions to Remo Stars FC following incidents during their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) match against Ikorodu City FC on 14 January 2026 at Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, Ogun State.
The Committee found that Remo Stars FC failed to provide adequate security, leading to attacks on away team supporters, injuries, and damage to the team bus. Supporters of Remo Stars also threw objects onto the field, causing the match to be stopped twice.
Based on its findings, the Committee imposed the following penalties:
A N2,000,000 fine for failure to provide adequate security.
A N1,000,000 fine for throwing objects onto the field.
Other News
A N2,000,000 compensatory payment for injuries and damage caused to the away team.
Reduction of the earlier five-match home stadium ban to run concurrently from the date of the sanction.
The Committee clarified that these decisions are without prejudice to the right of appeal.
