The Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria, PFAN on Monday initiated a contempt proceeding on the proposed Nigeria Football Federation election billed for September 30 in Benin.
According to SUIT NO:FHC/ABJ/CS/1376/2021filled by the chairman of the task force of the PFAN, Harrison Jalla, stated thus: “Further to ongoing gross violation of Hon. Justice Inyang Ekwo Order dated 15th day of September 2022 upon the motion Exparte dated and filed on 2nd September 2022 .That elections to the NFF Board be put on hold pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice for interlocutory injunction pending before the Honourable Court.
“Well Known as serial violators of court orders and their disdain for the rule of law former NFF top officials have brazenly proceeded with the suspended NFF electoral process in spite of a Subsisting Court Order. In the light of the above Contempt proceedings have been initiated by the PFAN task force today the 27th of September 2022.
The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF had in a memo dated 14 September, 2022 and signed by the General Secretary stated that the it will continue with the process of the elections.
