Spanish sensation, Lamine Yamal has again expressed admiration for Neymar, saying the Brazil star treated him like a “little brother” despite his legendary status.
The 18-year-old spoke as Spain beat Uruguay 1-0 to finish as Group H leaders at the ongoing World Cup.
Asked who has impressed him the most, Yamal said, “Neymar. Even though he is a legend among footballers and someone I’ve always admired, he treated me like a little brother.”
In April, the Barcelona star described Neymar as his football idol.
Reflecting on the players who inspired him during his development, he highlighted the ex-Barca star’s creativity, flair, and influence on modern football.
“Neymar is my idol. I will always be grateful to him. I want to thank him for everything he has given football,” Yamal said in a post shared on the UEFA page on X.
