UEFA released the newest club rankings on Friday.

Manchester City are ranked first despite failing to win back-to-back Champions League championships, while Real Madrid, who won the cup, is in second position.

Bayern Munich is placed third after missing out on the Bundesliga title to Bayer Leverkusen. Liverpool and Roma round up the top five.

Chelsea are the next Premier League team in the coefficient, in ninth place, followed by Manchester United in 14th, West Ham in 16th, and Arsenal in 19th.

The UEFA club coefficients are derived using a team’s performance in European tournaments over the preceding five seasons.

The rankings also influence how clubs are seeded in UEFA draws for future European events.
