The National Orientation Agency (NOA), Kebbi State Directorate, has reiterated its commitment to a comprehensive public enlightenment and mobilisation campaign for the residents on the new national tax laws taking effect from January 2026.
The State Director, Muhammed Nasir Karofi, who disclosed this, explained that the NOA’s national headquarters had already concluded engagements with the chairman of the Tax Reform Committee, acquiring all vital information needed for a detailed and factual public education drive.
According to him, “Kebbi NOA has conducted several public enlightenment programmes, engaging diverse segments of the society during the legislative process of the tax reform. We are going to extensively enlighten the citizens and adequately mobilise them towards this patriotic duty.” He urged citizens to approach the reforms with a sense of patriotism and positivity, saying that compliance with tax laws is a civic responsibility essential for national and state development.
He stated that the fundamental essence of government remains making life easier and better for the citizens.

Also speaking on the Kebbi State Government’s intervention on Hajj, he said the state government’s approval of N10 billion was to secure the Hajj seats for the intended pilgrims. He also stated that money was a loan that would be refunded.
The NOA Director, who described the government’s action as a clear demonstration that it was responsive to the welfare and spiritual aspirations of its people, noted that the condemnation from certain quarters was a misinterpretation of the fund’s intention.
He explained that the loan facility was secured to pay for Hajj seats from the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON), preventing intending pilgrims from losing their slots due to the strict payment deadline.
He praised the prompt and decisive action of the Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris and the Chairman of the State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Faruku Musa Yaro Enabo.
He said: “The governor and Enabo should be commended for the promptness to help the intending pilgrims meet the strict deadline of the National Hajj Commission. This intervention is a clear demonstration that the government is responsive to the welfare and spiritual aspirations of its people,” he added
