…Iya Aladura General calls for righteous governance

As Nigeria navigates uncertain times and its citizens cry out for transformation, the founder of The New Seraph and Iya Aladura General, Dr. (Mrs.) Oluwaseye Yomi-Sholoye JP, has called on leaders to embrace righteousness, integrity, and selfless service to rescue the nation from its current woes.

Speaking during a press conference in Lagos ahead of the upcoming Night of Divine Experience (NODE) 7.0, a three-day spiritual revival gathering scheduled for August 13 to 15, 2025, Dr. Yomi-Sholoye emphasized that the Church cannot remain silent amid the nation’s hardship, rising cost of living, and political instability.

“This is a sincere call to unity and action,” she declared passionately. “As a clergy, I understand the pains of our beloved brothers and sisters that our nation, Nigeria, is hurting. The Bible says, ‘When good people lead, everyone rejoices; but when bad people rule, everyone mourns’ (Proverbs 29:2).”

The NODE 7.0, themed “God of Perfection” (Psalm 138:8), marks a special centenary edition as the Cherubim and Seraphim Church celebrates 100 years of existence.

The revival will take place at The New Seraph Prayer City, Ode Remo, Ogun State, with an anticipated attendance of over 300,000 worshippers from across Nigeria and the diaspora.

Reflecting on the spiritual journey so far, she recounted the overwhelming success of NODE 6.0 held in 2023, noting that “testimonies were countless” and the impact far-reaching.

“Since our major focus as a ministry is soul-winning and populating God’s kingdom, the Lord has placed it in our heart yet again to reach out this year,” she said.

This year’s gathering, she said, has been preceded by extensive Pre-NODE Revivals, Vigils, and Rallies held in both rural and urban communities across Nigeria.

“In fact,” she noted, “this year’s Pre-NODE rallies across the nation were so spectacular. As I speak, rallies are ongoing in some locations, and it will continue till the D-DAY – Friday, 15th August, 2025.”

The three-day event is loaded with spiritual and impactful sessions, including seminars, musical performances, youth and women conferences, intercessory prayers, and a grand vigil. The Friday grand finale will feature the Youth Hour, a core moment of prayers and prophetic declarations.

“We have prayerfully selected a lineup of ministers who are anointed and tested vessels of God,” Dr. Yomi-Sholoye announced.

The roster includes: Prophet Israel Oladele Ogundipe (Genesis), Prophet/Bishop Babatunde Samuel JP (Sotitobire), Apostle Deborah Ojubiyi JP, Laolu Gbenjo, King Segun Ajidara, Ewa and Kristi, Evang. Segun Omo Alafin.

On The New Seraph mass choir, she added, “These ministers will bring a prophetic discharge that will ignite revival, healing, and national rebirth.”

To ensure accessibility, the ministry has arranged over 300 BRT buses across Lagos and thousands of interstate buses, all free of charge, to ferry worshippers to and from the prayer city.

“Once the bus list is published, attendees are advised to locate any nearby bus assigned to their locations,” she said.

For believers in the diaspora, the programme will be streamed live via The New Seraph Facebook and YouTube Channels, as well as on affiliate platforms like Seraph Stories, Acts of Seraphs, Ijo Kerubu Serafu, Eyes of Cherub, and Seraph Television.

Beyond the spiritual revival, the press conference also became a powerful moment of prophetic advocacy, as Dr. Yomi-Sholoye addressed Nigeria’s current economic and social challenges with candour and compassion.

“To our leaders,” she said firmly, “I humbly appeal to you to address the pressing issues that have led to this moment. Reduce the cost of living and address inflation. Provide affordable fuel and electricity. Create jobs and opportunities for the youth. Ensure accountability and transparency in governance. Protect the rights and freedoms of all citizens.”

She continued, “The Church will not be silent. Our faith demands action. We will pray for our leaders, but also demand accountability. We will be God’s prophetic voice, speaking against injustice and corruption. We will fulfil our civic duty by voting and holding leaders responsible.”

She urged politicians to abandon divisive and deceptive politics, noting that Nigerians are yearning for transformational leadership.

“To politicians: Show us your works! Prove you’ve learned. Use your wealth to bless the nation, not just yourselves. Stop fighting, unite for Nigeria. Stop deceiving youths—give them real chances,” she said.

Quoting Proverbs 14:34, she concluded, “Righteousness makes a nation great, but sin brings disgrace.”

The Iya Aladura General extended a personal invitation to the press and the general public to attend the Night of Divine Experience.

“Members of the press, may I use this opportunity to also invite you all to join us on Friday, 15th August, 2025, starting from 6:00 p.m. till dawn, as I will be glad to see you also share in the testimonies of God’s perfection in our lives,” she said.

She offered closing prayers for Nigeria and its citizens, saying, “May God bless Nigeria, and may God guide us towards a brighter future. Jesus Christ awaits you.”

As Nigeria continues to search for its true moral compass, voices like Dr. Oluwaseye Yomi-Sholoye’s are rising from the spiritual heart of the nation — not only to heal but to awaken, challenge, and lead.
