Newly-appointed Director Defence Information (DDI), Brig.-Gen. John Agim, has assumed office.
He takes over from Maj.-Gen. John Enenche, who is now the Commandant, Army War College, Abuja.
At a brief ceremony organised for the handing and taking over held at the Defence Headquarters, Gen. Agim, who until his appointment was Commandant Nigerian Army School of Public Relations, appealed to the media for cooperation especially at this time when the military is battling to flush out Boko Haram terrorists and other criminal groups from the country. He also promised to be accessible and provide media with necessary and timely information.
He, however, called for more cooperation between the media and the military, both of who he described as ‘partners’, and also appealed to media practitioners to always verify information at their disposal before going to press.
