Comptroller Momodu Dauda has assumed office as the new Comptroller for the Cross River, Calabar FTZ, and Akwa Ibom States Command of the Nigeria Customs Service.

Compt. Dauda, who takes over from ACG Chukwudi Ogbonna on Friday, announced his vision for the area, saying he hopes to enhance trade facilitation, revenue generation, and enforcement strategies.

“My vision for the command is clear: to enhance trade facilitation, increase revenue collection and strengthen enforcement strategies.

“I will work tirelessly to ensure that our officers and men are equipped with the necessary skills.

“In addition, we will also work to foster stronger relationships with our stakeholders, leveraging on their expertise to drive growth and development in our region,” he said.

He also emphasised that collaboration and partnership are crucial to achieving their goals and that they will work to make the command a model for others to emulate.

In his speech, the outgoing Area Comptroller, ACG Chukwudi Ogbonna, said the command was reeling with multiple challenges but that he had succeeded in transforming the narrative.

He thanked the officers of the command, saying his success is a testament to the power of teamwork, dedication, and innovation.
