The Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG) has been brought on board as technical partner for the National Grassroots Sports Development Summit, taking place in Abuja next month.
The Office of the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Grassroots Sports Development confirmed the partnership. The two-day summit is scheduled for November 18 and 19 at the Banquet Hall of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.
Prince Adeyinka Adeboye, the President’s SSA on Grassroots Sports, said yesterday that his office had held several meetings with the NESG in preparation for the event.
“As we speak, I can confirm to you that the NESG are our technical partners and we are more than impressed with what they are contributing to this all-important event,” Adeboye said.

He added that the summit, which has President Tinubu’s approval, will attract major stakeholders from within and outside Nigeria.
“We are looking forward to a summit that would draw a new road map for sports in this country and getting the NESG to partner with us clearly shows that we are on course,” he said.
The summit’s theme is “Creating a New Pathway for Sustainable Grassroots Sports Development.”
It comes at a time when the conversation on reforming Nigerian sports increasingly centres on stronger structures, better facilities, improved competitions and sustainable talent-development programmes.
