‘Needless controversy’ – Remi Tinubu on Gov Adeleke incident

Remi Tinubu and Governor Ademola Adeleke

Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has reacted to the backlash trailing her recent interaction with Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.

A viral video clip from the 10th coronation anniversary of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, captured the moment the First Lady interrupted Adeleke’s singing.

The incident attracted criticisms and condemnation from members of the public, who say that the First Lady went too far.

Reacting via her Facebook account, Remi Tinubu stated that critics and followers turn steps and minor missteps into “needless controversy”.

“Those entrusted with leadership understand their duties and how to steer the affairs of society.

“More often, it is the followers and critics who scrutinize every step, amplify minor missteps, and turn them into needless controversy.

“Ọṣun lè tèǹtẹ̀,” the social media post reads.
